The Rides
We have rides going out 7 days a week, all year round, through some of the most beautiful and famous parts of Exmoor.
All of our rides go out as escorted small groups or individuals, although we will willingly take out large parties if they so wish.
We cater for every level of rider, from total beginner just plucking up courage through to three-day eventers. Our horses and guides know the terrain very well and there is a sure-footedness to our rides which goes a very long way to making all our rides, be they a slow walk up the valley or a full galloping hack over the moors, relaxing, safe and enjoyable. And there is no road work at all!
We have one hour daytime rides going out along the valley each day; these are suitable for people who have never ridden before or where there are children who need leading.
There are also two hour treks going out each day through the valley and over the moor; riders need to be capable of horse control without help, and there may be trotting and cantering if the escort is satisfied with riders' abilities.
For a longer adventure into the beautiful Exmoor landscape, a three hour trek goes out in the afternoon for experienced riders who are competent at walk, trot and canter.
We also have day rides, including picnic rides, for experienced riders who are competent at walk, trot and canter. These rides go to various well-known Exmoor locations, such as Watersmeet, Exford, Robbers Bridge, Dunkery Beacon, Porlock Weir and Dunster, and include a stop for lunch at a hostelry or inn (not included in price). We regret we cannot take children under 12 years old on these day rides, except in exceptional circumstances.
We are also more than happy to organise, by mutual arrangement, special rides for groups to suit clients' own wishes.
All of the above rides are bookable by phone or email - for details and prices, please see the Booking page.
The pictures cannot do the landscape justice; once you've ridden here, you won't want to ride anywhere else!

Riding through the shallow Badgworthy Water opposite Cloud Farm.

Spectacular tranquil landscapes make riding the valley and moors unforgettable, whatever the time of day.
